The Coaching team is run by Charlie Broad who with Steve Birch, George Elawure, Nicholas Kaba and Alex Lyons combine to lead a committed team of coaches, who are tennis-loving and hard-working enthusiasts. All our coaching team are professionally qualified and LTA Accredited to give assurance of the highest standard of coaching.
Charlie Broad - Director
Charlie is a LTA Level 3 Accredited plus tennis coach with over 20 years playing experience and 10 years of coaching experience. As a Junior player Charlie trained and played at the world renowned Sanchez Casal Tennis Academy in Spain, he also represented Berkshire County at Junior level. Charlie is the director of all coaching at Match Point Tennis Coaching.
Steve Birch - Senior Coach
Steve is a LTA Level 3 coach who brings with him over 30 years coaching experience. Throughout Steve's playing career he has been fortunate to play at county and national level, winning many tournaments along the way. Having been the former head coach at Royal Ascot Tennis Club for 25 years, Steve brings with him a wealth of experience to MPTC. Steve delivers our adult coaching programme.
George Elawure - Senior Coach
George is a LTA Level 3 coach who brings with him over 30 years coaching experience. Throughout George's playing career he has been fortunate to play professional and represent Nigeria at Davis Cup. George delivers our coaching programme at our hotel and home coaching sessions.
Alex Lyons - Lead Junior Coach
Alex is a LTA Level 2 Accredited coach who brings with him over 5 years coaching experience. Since the age of 5 years old, tennis has been a huge part of Alex's life given him an enormous amount of joy when playing or competing. Now specialising in junior tennis for MPTC, Alex brings with him a wealth of experience in all forms of club coaching including tots tennis, mini tennis, junior tennis and adult tennis.
Nicholas Kaba - Commercial Operations
Nicholas oversee's the development of existing and future partnerships with stakeholders across Berkshire and Surrey. Exploring and brokering tennis contracts at new and existing venues. Nicholas is also a Level 2 Accredited coach who brings with him a wealth of experience.
